Even More Firebird Accessories!

Professor Sir John Pendry, of Imperial College London, who helped pioneer superlenses, said: "If the speck of dust is close enough it induces a very aggressive response in the cloaking material which essentially acts back on the speck of dust and forces it to stop shining.

Oceans to be more corrosive than when the dinosaurs died

Better quit skinny-dipping...

Increased carbon dioxide emissions are rapidly making the world's oceans more acidic and, if unabated, could cause a mass extinction of marine life similar to one that occurred 65 million years ago when the dinosaurs disappeared.

New Tag Cloud

Just wanted to let everyone know about the new Tag Cloud on the left side of the page. If you've never seen one before, it's basically an aggregator of RSS (Really Simple Syndication), ATOM, and XML feeds from a multitude of news sources. It changes in real time as the news around the world changes. The larger the phrase or word, the more news there is about that particular item at that moment in time. Clicking on it will take you to a page that lists all of the news stories with links.

If you have a particular news site that you would like me to add to the Cloud, please let me know!

Also BTW: All the pages on this site should now be loading much faster!!

Coming only a few weeks after U.S. Representative John Conyers, the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, introduced resolutions to censure President Bush and Vice President Cheney, and to explore the issue of impeachment, Gore in expected to "make the case that the country -- including the legislative and judicial branches and all Americans -- must act now to defend the systems put into place by the country's founders to curb executive power or risk permanent and irreversible damage to the Constitution."

Love the Louse

Where even some skeptical scientists were comfortable acknowledging that dogs, dolphins and chimpanzees show signs of personality, this new field sees a spectrum of temperament and emotions among almost all animals: octopuses and lizards, crayfish and spiders.
