We first visited Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the winter of 1993-4 and stayed at the Paradise Inn. We had been island hopping but we liked Saint Vincent and the Grenadines so much we came back in the winter of 1994-5.
But back in 1995 there wasn't much information about Saint Vincent and the Grenadines available on the internet so I wrote a piece for a travel bulletin board that gave my general impressions. It was picked up by a travel website and that piece, which you can still find, was about the only thing on the internet about Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Now in 2003 if you use Google you can find over 600,000 sites that mention Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Unfortunately, most of them just include it in a list of countries, and those that have something just repeat data from the CIA factbook or the U.S. State Department backgrounder. And some of them just repeat old information and dumb mistakes.
Over the years since 1995 I've written pieces giving our impressions of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to help others decide if they want to visit. By 2003 I've been tinkering with these impressions for a while, and I've put some things onto special sections of this book. In this section I'll feel free to jump around in terms of time and place and even repeat things I said elsewhere to suit the context. For instance, in an email directed to a specific question I might repeat what I said about the subject elsewhere. But I also might say something different.
The only discipline will be that it will represent my honest impressions of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; at least as of the time it was written.
