This provides us with the opportunity to hope for evolution to end in a Utopia in which cooperation is the main theme.
But it also gives us the responsibility of asking why we aren't in a Utopia now? What went wrong with our evolution that caused us to act out the kind of intra-species violence and exploitation that our current society depends on? And how can we set our evolution back on the natural path of cooperation and altruism?
To answer that we have to look at the process that brought us to this point, and look at it carefully and objectively. Only that way can we understand why we seem to be doing things all wrong.
