Sweet Riders/Cannondale Cup one day clinics offered on Jan 29th, Mar 5th, May 21st, Sept 3rd and Nov 12th
Our first year's clinics were a great success. Check out some of the pictures (click here ). We look forward to 2006! This camp is a one day event starting at 8:00 AM and finishing at around 3PM. It is held in Sagamiko Picnic Land, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is very convenient if you live in Tokyo. The day's schedule looks something like this:
8:00 AM Morning meeting to discuss the day's schedule and an introduction to Neutral Position
8:30 - 9:30 AM 1st skill session, Bike Body Separation, Braking and Shifting
9:45 - 10:45 AM 2nd skill session, Small circles with ratcheting, Slow speed cornering and Switchbacks
11:00 - 12:00 AM 3rd skill session, Climbing and Descending
12:00 - 1:00 PM Lunch time and sponsor introductions and sponsors prizes given to the participants!!
1:00 - 3:00 PM Group rides, participants can practice the morning skills they learned and finally a group good bye and wrap up.

Our two day camps are double the fun! They are hosted by Hakuba Alps Backpackers Lodge (www.hakubabackpackers.com). The camps ususally include one nights accommodation at the lodge (Saturday night), 2 breakfasts, two lunches, two days of instruction, Saturday nights bbq and a maintenance session all for ¥25000!!! Helping Sweet Riders is Evergreen Outdoors (www.evergreen-outdoors.com), so come and enjoy the fun in 2006!!
The weekend schedule looks like this:
SATURDAY DAY ONE
8:30 - 9:00 Meet at Hakuba Alps Backpackers Lodge, and start the day
9:00 - 9:30 Introductions and an explanation of the days schedule
9:30 - 10:00 Travel to the skills site and get ready to ride
10:00 - 10:20 An introduction to Neutral Position and basic balance positions on the bike
10:20 - 11:15 1st skill session, Bide Body Separation, Braking and Shifting
11:15 - 12:15 2nd skill session, Straight Line Riding, Slow Speed Cornering, Switchbacks
12:15 - 1:15 3rd skill session, Basic Front Wheel Lift, 1/4 Punch Pedaling Front Wheel LIft, Riding Over Obstacles
1:15 - 2:15 Lunch Time!!
2:30 - 5:00 Group ride, participants can practice the morning skills they learned
5:00 - 5:30 Head Back to Alps Backpackers to get ready for the BBQ and Maintenance Session
6:15 - BBQ time !!! Prize Time!!
7:30 - Maintenance Session
8:00 Day one down!!
SUNDAY DAY TWO
9:00 - 9:30 Morning meeting to discuss the day's schedule and head out to the skill site
9:45 - 10:00 Warm up and review of Neutral Position and basic balance
10:00 - 11:00 1st Skill Session of participants choice
11:00 - 12:00 2nd skill Session of participants choice
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch Time!!
1:15 - 3:30 Group Ride, another practice time for the participants to apply the skills they have learned
3:30 - 4:00 Travel Back to Hakuba Alps Backpackers for the Camp Wrap up and filling out of evaluation forms
4:15 Off you go to your home trails to apply the skills you have just learned and then hopefully join Sweet Riders
again sometime soon!!
