Curriculum Vitae

Katsuya KANAOKA received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1995, his Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1997, and his Doctor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2002, respectively, all from Kyoto University, Japan.

He was an assistant from 2002 to 2003, a lecturer from 2003 to 2008, at Ritsumeikan University, Japan. Since 2007, he has been a CEO & CTO of Man-Machine Synergy Effectors Inc. Simultaneously since 2008, he has been a chair professor of Ritsumeikan University.

He is a member of The Robotics Society of Japan and IEEE. He is now interested in human power-amplifying robots, bipedal robots, aerial robots, and underwater robots. His robotic technologies are all based on a comprehensive concept of "Man-Machine Synergy Effector."
