| Real world matching of gadgets with HDR-FX1 | | Date Created: Dec 11, 2004, 11:59 PM |
After testing HDR-FX1 with several gadgets, I'm coming to the reasonable conclusion for choice of the equipments.
As I mentioned before, using Vinten Vision 3 with medium spring provided me beautiful balance for HDR-FX1. The match is great. However, Vision 3 is too large for me to attach on my backpack and ride down the mountain with my dowhill mountainbike. So, I was looking for another choice of tripod. |
Then I was looking through the Manfrotto catalog and there you go, they make carbon video tripod and various video heads. After testing (thanks to Honjo. co.) few video heads, I found out that Manfrotto 503 is reasonablly suitable for HDR-FX1. The carbon video tripod is 754 tripod. |
As you can see from the photo on the left, HDR-FX1 is balanced at this position. The friction dial is not much turned in. |
Then at the photo on the right, HDR-FX1 is balanced facing upward. I made it so that HDR-FX1 is shifted to the front a little, so the video head would be balanced at downward position. |

And you can choose to fit a bag like this with the tripod. By putting batteries and other stuff would make the tripod become more stable. |
Also, you can change the shoes and add plates like the photo for muddy or soft terrain situation. |
