I went through the second set of tapes from the live music performance footage and even we set the gain down to -24db without the auto gain control, some parts are distorted. Probably the onboard microphones have very poor dynamic range. If you are going to use this cam for such music perfomance with PA system, you'd have to be very careful with the gain setting. By the way, this performance was by four piece accoustic group. You can see the video clip taken with DSR-PDX10 last year.
I did not have the same type of problem with the onboard microphone on DSR-PDX10.
Also, I really regret that I did not use the wired remote to control the zooming at this performance since I had really hard time with the zoom rocker. |
