 My definition of "general use" is riding on the asphalt road doing street assult, doing light dirt jumps at Yoyogi park and riding Fujimi Panorama 4X course,
I've been using Shawlbe Big Jim UST tires for about two weeks now. They are okay. They roll fast enough on the asphalt road and feels comfortable on dirt. But the treds are not that firm, so when I try to turn fast by leaning my bike, Big Jim tires seem to give up early. Maybe they would be alright for real freeride, climbing up and down.
Nokian NBX 2.1 UST was good, too. But it cracked hitting an edge of stairs in Shibuya.
NBX 2.1 has internal layers that gives you nice soft riding feel to it.
Now I got Hutchinson Python UST 2.35 and new Maxxis HighRoller UST 2.35s, so I will report after I try them. Kenda Kinetics UST would be an interesting choice, too. |
