I received an email asking about the functions of AG-DVC30 today from Thailand. Here's the mail.
------------------------------------------
Hi,
I saw your post in the DVInfo forum and visited your great website. I recently purchased a DVC32e and am still learning how to use it effectively. However, I could not get answers to two questions (Panasonic Thailand is no help) so I'm hoping you can help.
There are four scene files including the movie-like file (the last one). If I want to use cine-gamma but not the 25p, am I restricted to using the movie-like file (and change the recording to 50p)? Can I use the other scene file and still get cine-gamma?
The manual says that ND filter is an automatic feature (when the iris is set wide open). How can I use the ND filter feature indepently of the auto?
The manual is almost useless, is there any resource to help me learn the camera faster?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Tan Lee,
First, thank you very much for your complement about my site.
For your first question, I'm not sure but it seems like the four "Scene File"s are just preset with different parameter settings. When you select "4:Movie-Like" Scene file, the "Detail Level" is down to -7, "Chroma Level" up to +4, "AE Shift" is down to -3 and the finally, the "Rec Mode" being "Frame". So, for what you want, I would select the scene file "4:movie-Like" and switch the "Rec Mode" to "Norm". You can even save it and name it the way you like it.
For your second question, I also could not find the seperate "ND Filter" toggle. So, I guess you cannot independently use it.
Hope this helps. |
