Dada Engine

The Postmodernism Generator was written by Andrew C. Bulhak using the Dada Engine, a system for generating random text from recursive grammars, and modified very slightly by Josh Larios (this version, anyway. There are others out there). . To generate another essay, follow this link

Kubrick's "Napoleon"

I have come across Stanley Kubrick's screenplay for his never made film "Napoleon" It's a good read and would have made an exceptional film. Worthy reading for, among many other things, today's constellation of events regarding EU/NATO/Russia, not to mention Obama's advisor, Brzezinski.

Thief!

TO: Hard Working Staff Members
FROM: Governor
DATE: April 3, 1995

I thought I would share with you a recent bit of Texas history which epitomizes our mission.

My very close personal friend from Midland, Joe. J. O'Neill, III, recently loaned me a portrait entitled "A Charge to Keep" by W.H.D. Koerner. This beautiful painting will hang on my wall for the next four years.

The reason I bring this up is that the painting is based upon the Charles Wesley hymn "A Charge to Keep I Have". I am particularly impressed by the second verse of this hymn. The second verse goes like this:

"To serve the present age, my calling to fulfill;
O may it all my powers engage to do my Master's will"

This is our mission. This verse captures our spirit.

Joe was inspired to make this generous loan during the church service preceding the inaugural ceremonies. It was in this church service when we sang the hymn "A Charge to Keep I Have".

When you come into my office, please take a look at the beautiful painting of a horseman determinedly charging up what appears to be a steep and rough trail. This is us. What adds complete life to the painting for me is the message of Charles Wesley that we serve One greater than ourselves.

Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for your service to our State. God Bless Texas!

=======================
Actually George, no, no it is not based on a hymn.
Scott Horton of Harper's scores a find that is so synchronous that Jung might have a hard time with it.

I believe things happen for a reason -- W.

There are people who will work to see.

... "Bio" is composed of drawings sandwiched between two layers of drafting film. In order to clearly see some of the drawings, viewers were asked to lightly touch the film to bring images into focus. The drawings were collected from Schirmer's journals recounting experimentation and conditioning/torture sessions from her childhood.

"Since its start in 1982 the Concertzender is known for its remarkable and adventurous programming. Genuine jazz, rare recordings from private music collections, historical recordings, concert recordings of (still) unknown musicians and spectacular non-Western music are all part of the Concertzender's unique sound."

Infinite Rubberiness

Well, you may have already heard that the the antiwar single, a cover of Edwin Starr's 'War - What Is it Good For?' has made it into the top ten already. It's presently at number six in the charts with precious few resources, and could, with sufficient effort, make it to number 1. The BBC, in their infinite rubberiness, have decided to ban it, fearing that its antiwar message will offend the government.
