===================

Christians believe everything is reversible, any sin, even any crime. While man is alive he can understand and repent. The result of your crime cannot be repented. It is the past. There is nothing to do only to grieve and to change... this renewal of the soul whenever it happens, even at the very end, this is Christianity. Otherwise one follows assuredly one's wrong path. the age tells him "Go on, everybody does this." It ossifies the soul completely. People condemn themselves to complete perdition. The punishment is that man then cannot repent anymore, he's lost in the stream. And in this stream he is not even a person. This is the most terrible idea.
-- Alexander Solzhenitsyn
