Maher Osseiran asks, Is it high treason or just a simple case of dereliction of duty?

... Most people will remember the infamous "bin Laden confession video" which was reportedly 'obtained' by US forces in Afghanistan after the fall of Jalalabad in November, 2001. The video, which has been offered as proof by the Bush administration that Osama bin Laden ordered the September 11, 2001 attacks, was broadcast in media outlets beginning in December 2001.
But now, a researcher claims that several kinds of evidence related to the video show that the US military's story of its origin is false.-- Bryan Sacks, 9-11 Truth.org

------------------------------------

Sacks continues:

Osseiran's thesis will be viewed with skepticism by many who have concluded that the confession video is a fabrication. Until the FBI and DoD have fulfilled their obligations of full disclosure, we consider that skepticism warranted, despite the cogent analysis offered by Osseiran. But to those who want to dismiss Osseiran's thesis out of hand because he accepts the authenticity of tape we must reply, with Osseiran, that some who are convinced the video a fake have themselves uncritically accepted the government's timeline that the video was captured in November 2001. Osseiran provides evidence that the DoD has lied about this.

A second important point is: whether or not the video is a fake, both the DoD and the Bush administration are guilty of serious crimes.

For more on this story:

... Unlike other crimes that the Bush administration is suspected of, the evidence used to expose these is still available to the media, our elected representatives, and law enforcement to probe and independently analyze.

... Some might see the half full part of the glass and say that the administration, even though it squandered the better scripted part of the sting in preference for taping, tried its best and failed; after all, no one can control the weather.
Such an argument has merit if it were not for the release of the tape on December 13, 2001.
Maher Osseiran: Osama's Confession; Osama's Reprieve

---------------------------------------

... Either the tape is a fake or it was produced prior to October 7, 2001 when the U.S. began its invasion of Afghanistan.  Either way, this tape continues to spell potential trouble for the Bush Administration – if only they were held accountable by those agencies within the federal government that are responsible for the maintenance of the rule of law in the United States.  If fake, laws have been broken.  If authentic, but filmed before the invasion of Afghanistan as part of a sting operation, then more laws have been broken because it would mean that the U.S. government had an opportunity to capture or eliminate Osama bin Laden prior to invading Afghanistan but passed on the opportunity in favor of gaining a videotape indictment of Osama bin Laden to use as promotional material for its invasion of Afghanistan, the global war on terror, and the invasion of Iraq, rather than going for the kill when given the chance.  It suggests that exploitation of the 9/11 attacks for political and geo-political gains had a higher priority within the Bush Administration than bringing Osama bin Laden to justice.

I encourage everyone to read the work by Osseiran Maher because he describes his technical analysis of the videotape in great detail.  He contends that the videotape is actually produced by two cameras and explains how he reached this conclusion.  He points to one of Osama bin Laden’s sons seen in segments of the guesthouse footage as an authenticating feature.  Also, the fact that there is no doubt regarding the identification of sheikh Khaled al-Harbi also leads to the videotape’s credibility

Please note that the Department of Defense is now on record as saying that it conducted a search of its files and located no records responsive to the Muckraker Report’s FOIA request to document the circumstances, logistics and dates surrounding the discovery of the videotape, nor has the Department of Defense located records demonstrating the authenticity process and authenticity of the December 13, 2001 Osama bin Laden “confession video” – a video that the U.S. government used to fully solidify already strong American support for the invasion of Afghanistan that began 68 days prior to the video’s release.

... On December 27, 2001, a second video containing the pale skinned and very real Osama 'C' was broadcast on al Jazeera.
So, this tape was made around ten days after the "lucky find" tape was reportedly made. Are we to believe that Osama's skin, hair and beard changed color in ten days?

On 20 December 2001, German TV channel Das Erste broadcast its analysis of the White House s translation of the OBL video that George Bush has called a confession of guilt . On the show Monitor , two independent translators and an expert on oriental studies found the White House s translation not only to be inaccurate, but manipulative .

Prof. Gernot Rotter, professor of Islamic and Arabic Studies at the Asia-Africa Institute at the University of Hamburg sums it up:The American translators who listened to the tapes and transcribed them apparently wrote a lot of things in that they wanted to hear but that cannot be heard on the tape no matter how many times you listen to it.
