個人的に数年前から探していた曲にやっと出会った。

　個人的に数年前から探していた曲にやっと出会った。その昔、３０年以上前、正確には３３年前に見たポール・ニューマンの映画があった。喜劇の映画でアイスホッケーチームの映画。その主題歌の曲が気に入っていた。映画の名前がわからない。ネットでニューマンの作品を探すとあった、Slap Shot これしかない。なんせアイスホッケーだからSlap Shot に違いない。後で調べると、アイスホッケーで強いショットをスラップ・ショット言うのですね。さらに、ネットでSlap Shotの主題歌を検索すると、あった　Maxine Nightingale の Right Back Where We Started From 　これは全米ビルボードNo2のスマッシュ・ヒットだったらしい。映画の内容は、選手権コーチのポール・ニューマンが折り合いが悪くなった妻とのやり直しを期待していたので、この「Right Back Where We Started From」しかないと思いました。曲自体は iTune で見つけました。数年前にもネットを駆使して探したけど見つからなかった。でも今回は簡単に見つかったのですが、ネットの情報量が増えたせいでしょう。Maxine Nightingaleは英国の歌手なんですね。

"Right Back Where We Started From" is a single recorded by British singer Maxine Nightingale in the summer of 1975 which reached #8 on the UK chart dated 29 November 1975[1] and in the spring of 1976 spent four weeks at #2 on Billboard's Hot 100. [2] "Right Back Where We Started From" also achieved hit status in Australia, Brazil, Canada (#5), France (#10), Germany (#38), Mexico and the Netherlands (#3): released in 1978 in Sweden the track there reached #9. "Right Back Where We Started From' also appeared on Billboard's Adult Contemporary and Black Singles charts at respectively #5 and #46.[2]
