TOP: If there's dust on the horizon, a vehicle is comin' your way! Traffic is very light (perhaps 50 cars per day) on theTrans-Labrador Highway, but vehicles approaching from opposite directions usually slowdown for each other to avoid throwing stones. I suffered only a broken headlight and turn signal lens with recurring minor problems to the exposed underneath brake and gas lines, but with all the emergency equipment and parts I carried, I assisted a number of broken-down vehicles with tire, gas tank, or other damage. BOTTOM: Fred K2FRD, the intrepid explorer and famous (infamous?) DXpeditioner scowling and squinting into the sun. Note the short haircut; I gave myself a buzzcut to minimize head maintenance. Note also construction of Version 3.2 of the windbreak using logs (actually, dead spruce trees; they seldom grow larger than 6" DBH). The earlier versions weren't strong enough to prevent tent and other camp damage.
