Beach photographers have it made! Last Saturday, we traveled to the town that I grew up in on Long Island to see my parents and to celebrate my Dad's Birthday. We had dinner at a restaurant on the beach and afterwards we took of our shoes and ventured out onto the rocky shores for some pictures. The light was absolutely fabulous. It's funny...Mason and Kendall are such "City Kids" and they didn't take to the sand very well. I hope to change that soon. Look how beautiful these images are. Thanks to my Dad for taking the family pictures. He did a great job of working my camera, especially considering it doesn't function like consumer cameras. By the way, our family picture also happens to be a good example of what to wear for a shoot. Trust me, we didn't plan this. Many clients ask me what are the best colors to wear, and the answer is that it really depends upon your skin tone. For fair to medium people, I recommend light colors, but not necessarily white, which can tend to "glow" in direct sunlight. If your skin tones are darker, richer colors will work well too. For today's contemporary photography, it's not necessary for everyone to dress exactly alike. However, you should always coordinate and dress neatly, but not fancy. If you're interested in beach pictures on the Jersey Shore, let me know!

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of doing portraits for a beautiful little girl who will be turning one in a couple of weeks. We met at their house and started in Amelia's nursery. Mom made a bold move of painting Amelia's nursery a deep teal blue. She's heard enough comments and questions about why she didn't paint it pink for her little girl, and now she can respond that she did it so that her photographer could get some amazing pictures. When we were finished in Amelia's nursery, we did a clothing change and moved outside to the backyard where she played with her sun-hats and her cool pink converse sneakers.

2007 MS Walk What a beautiful day to take a walk for a cause... Today--as we have done for the past 6 years or so--our family and friends participated in the MS Walk to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The money goes towards programs for those affected by the disease and their families as well as research towards a cure. The 4.5 mile walk took place at Liberty State Park, and our team rallied together to raise over $11,300!!! If you haven't had a chance, and would still like to make a donation to our team, here's the link to donate online . Of course, I took a team photo, but once we were done with that, I went back to doing what I do best and took some great shots of all the cute kids!

OSP PHILADELPHIA!! This week, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with about a dozen photographers in Philadelphia. We shared lots of great ideas and came away with some beautiful images. A special thanks to Sofia Negron for organizing this wonderful event. Our models did a great job of battling the cold weather, wind, and rain. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() enjoy!

CREATING A STORYBOARD: MASON AND HIS 'TAR So, every one who knows Mason, knows that he has two loves...the first is the vacuum, the second is his guitar. He received this guitar for his second Birthday, and within 12 hours, it had only three strings left and the neck was broken in half. Boys! We taped it back together...professionally. I took these images to document how he loves to strum his guitar and sing us a good song. Mind you, I don't let the kids stand on their toys, and while I took these pictures, I was stating my mantra of "no standing on your toys" but I hoping he would stay on top long enough for me to take a few images. This storyboard is a clever way to organize the images in a fashion that captures the essence of the moment. Here are the three images I started with. I gave them an edgy "rock-and-roll" look in photoshop. I brings out all of the blue in his clothing and even his eyes in the second image.
...geesh, when I see this picture, I have to admit that we do look a lot alike!
You can tell he's not listening to me, right? Then, I combined the three images into an 11x16 composite and gave it a cute caption. For the text, I used the blue color from his shirt. This will be printed at my lab and mounted on mat board for extra durability.

I just finished preparing the proofs from my shoot on Sunday. What an adorable little baby Adam is, and what a wonderful and sweet family he has. Lucky for me, Adam was not quite crawling yet, so we did most of the shoot on Mom and Dad's bed, the perfect location. Here are some of my favorite shots. If you just can't get enough (and I certainly can't)...here's the slideshow.
There's something about this angle on a baby's face. The curves of the eyelashes, cheeks, nose and lips. It's priceless.

Kendall and Mason's 2nd Birthday We can't believe the Kendall and Mason are two already!! The past two years have been such an incredible time for us and we have enjoyed every moment (well, not really, but we'll forget all of the difficult stuff as the years go on anyway). The birthday festivities started off with a morning playdate with many of their friends. There was a bit of crying, but all in all it was a wonderful day. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day. ....and to see a slideshow of our entire second year, click here .
We were happy to serve a breakfast mom didn't have to make...
Max liked his cupcake!
![]() Our poor cat gets chased all day, but still LOVES Kendall and Mason.
We were honored to have Working Mother cover-family with us. Also known as our friends Melisa, Dave, Rocco, and Venezia
Vera...concentrating...
