Charles V. Sanders, M.D., (pictured here with Dr. Marier, former ID faculty member and our current dean, and Dr. Martin) Edgar Hull Professor and Chairman, Department of Medicine, LSU Medical Center. Dr. Sanders maintains an active interest in clinical Infectious Diseases, attends yearly on the ID consult service, and participates in many ID conferences. In addition, his research interests include the clinical and laboratory evaluation of newer antimicrobial agents in the treatment of aerobic and anaerobic infections. He has written extensively in this field as well as in clinical Infectious Diseases (Reference list).
