Hawaii February 2002 |

This February I spent 2 weeks in Hawaii again. The first 10 days I spent on the Big Island at the Hawaiian Juggling Festival, and the last four days I was on Kauai, which is an island I always wanted to visit. First off, let me mention that I was not lucky with the weather this time. It was very rainy and pretty cold for several days at the end of the festival. Fortunately I was not in a tent or jungalow this time, but the humidity and cold weather (and the wind) still got at me so I fled one day early to Kauai. Of course, the moment I was gone the weather improved instantly. Isn't it always like that?
Well, as I've said elsewhere: you cannot have a tropical rainforest without rain, right? It was just a lot of (cold) rain all at once. Bad luck. The festival was still a lot of fun. Lots of nice people, a great location (BellyAcres), good juggling etc. etc.
I wanted to create a really flashy travel report page with Flash-based Hawaii maps and other fancy things to practice my Dreamweaver skills, but I just don't have the time for all that now. Maybe next time...
One more thing. I've heard that somebody complained that my "hawaiian juggling festival pages don't contain enough juggling photos". Well, bad luck. Juggling photos you can see at any festival Web site. But you can't see beautiful pictures of Hawaii everywhere. Also, especially digital photos of juggling often don't turn out too well so that these photos often don't look good enough to put on the Web. Besides all of that... Juggling is just one part of the Hawaiian Juggling Festival, and possibly not the most important one.

Yes, Kauai is NorthWest of the Big Island, but I actually went to the Big Island first...
