He's got a couple of favorite spots... One is our bed, and the other is an old comforter that is on the floor. He loves to snuggle under the blankets on the bed or under the comforter. As I mentioned previously, he really likes his bowls of medicine... He comes looking for them if we're late giving them to him.

Here's a shot of Hobbes waiting (as patiently as a kitty can) for his medicine to get made for him. He knows that it's time for his snack, errr medicine.

Meet Hobbes's little sister. She is feeding her stuffed black kitty Hobbert just like she sees Mommy do for Hobbes. She calls Hobbes's medicine "all-ee." We don't know why, but that's what she calls it.

Hobbes gets his fluids -- He's being poked by a needle to get 100 cc's (~3 ounces) of fluids (same kind you and I would get if we were in the hospital). Since his kidneys aren't functioning at 100% they compensate by working harder to clear his body of the toxins which pulls a lot of fluid out of his blood. If he doesn't drink enough, or have the fluids replaced some other way to compensate for his kidneys working so hard he would become dehydrated.

It's hard to imagine him drinking 3 or more ounces of water a day so to prevent dehydration we give him subcutaneous fluids. We poke him just under the skin (subcutaneous) and not in a vein. You can do subcutaneous fluids for cats or dogs since their skin is so loose. It's very easy and he doesn't mind at all. The whole process takes about 3 minutes and he usually purrs through it.
