Parody of Da Vinci Code
Fan Service

Back in 1985, when I used to race home from school to catch the latest installment of Robotech, I had no idea then that the wonderful world I dwelled in for that half hour was classified as ANIME. Nor did I know that as an American woman I would be a rare breed of OTAKU.

This does not disturb me, though I often wonder when will America wake up -- Animation is not simply for children! But then we've had comic books for over sixty years as an American staple and still people refer to them as "funny books."

I guess I should have known that when Gigantor appeared in my Easter basket when I was three years old that the path of my life would lead unerringly to anime and similar flights of fantasy!

In other words, Welcome to my world, which I like to call Otaku Central.
