BOUNTY NOTICE

When I learned the title of the upcoming Cowboy Bebop movie at Anime Expo 2001 -- as I intently watched the trailer shown at the Toshihiro Kawamoto Q & A Session -- the Guns 'n' Roses version of "Knockin on Heaven's Door" came immediately to mind. And I was psyched! Not that I wasn't completely jazzed since last year when the rumors of a Cowbe movie reached my obsessive ears.

HEAVEN'S DOOR [Tengoku no Tobira] has a theatrical release date of early September 2001 -- in Japan.

Shinichiro Watanabe is still the director and Toshihiro Kawamoto is still the character designer. Unshou Ishizuka, Megumi Hayashibara, and Aoi Tada are still the voice actors of Jet, Faye, and Ed respectively. Which means the God of All Seiyuu, Kouichi Yamadera, is still Spike!!!! ^_^

Here is the lowdown: (source - Anime News Service http://www.animenewsservice.com/)

from movie: spike eats ramen.
from movie: faye held hostage.
from movie: ed and ein eat ramen.
from movie: spike aiming gun.

It's just another day for the crew of the Bebop.

Spike, Jet, Faye, Ed, and Ein are after a bounty on Mars. A devastating explosion on a highway sets off a chain of strange events. An unknown disease soon begins to spread among the people, quickly claiming over 500 victims. In response to the obvious threat, the local government sets the highest bounty ever in the history of bounty hunting on the head of the culprit who is responsible for the disaster.

The crew of the Bebop enter the fray, ready to kick butt and collect the bounty.

There's just one little problem, the man they are searching for is someone who is already dead technically, officially. Hey, guys, I haven't seen it either, but here are some images:

ed and ein maxin' and relaxin'. jet with shades on. faye watches with a raspberry popsicle. spike smoking, as usual.
