DFAC/ Gladys Douglas School for the Arts School News Fall 2004 Classes by Photography Instructor Jeff Donald Intro to 35mm Photography Tuesday 7 PM to 10 PM This beginners class offers the perfect introduction to 35mm photography. Students may use any 35mm camera. Topics include Exposure, Lighting, Flash Photography, Composition, camera controls, equipment, filters lenses, and use of 35mm cameras. Weekly assignments are given and images from the assignments will be critiqued. Emphasis is placed on learning your camera and taking better pictures. Optional field trips are available. Look for daytime classes beginning this fall. Introduction to Better Digital Photography Wednesday 7 PM to 10 PM This class is designed for the first time digital camera owner. So, if youve just received a camera as a gift, this is the class for you. Students will learn the basic of digital camera operation. Camera features and menu functions are covered in depth. Basic photographic techniques and skills are discussed, enabling the student to get the most out their camera. Use of Photoshop Elements and inkjet printing are also included. So, bring your digital camera and get on the road to better picture taking and printing. Optional field trips are available. Look for daytime classes beginning this fall. Independent Study in Photo Times arranged with instructor This class might be considered the Holy Grail of photographic instruction at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. Then again, it might not be, but it is a heck of a lot of fun to spend 18 hours studying the topics of your choice with Jeff Donald. The class is arranged on an individual basis between the student and Jeff. The class schedule is extremely flexible and can begin and be completed in as short or as long a time as meets the students needs. The instructor and student outline the individual needs of the student and develop a course plan to best meet the students needs and busy work schedule. This creative approach allows the student to pick his or her own topics and areas of interest. Field trips may be included as part of the 18 hours of instruction.
