So this past week we had to
animate our character 'Ballie" in a vanilla (basic walk). We were given lots of
information on how to do this, i.e what frame numbers ballie should be on, so it
was pretty standard. Soon we will be adding personality to ballie, but that is
down the road (although not too far!) We also had to create a pose showing
strength. This was definitely a tough one to achieve, as there are many
different types of strength. I tried not to be too cliche, but sometimes you
have to be cliche to communicate what you are trying to show. But I think I came
up with a nice one. Not only does the character under the block convey strength,
but I feel that the character above on the box riding it shows a happy inner
strength. I also added another pose for fun, although like my mentor Steve said,
the lines of action were too similar, not creating enough contrast, so it made
it very symmetrical. That is why I chose my first pose as my select pose. This
upcoming week we have to refine and polish our walk. And it's my birthday on
thursday! Woo hoo! So here it is...
