After our trip to Jordan we returned to Jerusalem and spent a couple of days siteseeing there. One of our special outings was a trip that included some time at En Gedi, a swim in the Dead Sea, and a visit to Masda. It was well worth leaving Jerusalem at four o'clock in the morning to be at Masada in time to greet the sunrise. We were both glad that we were able to make this hike after the summer dig at Tel Rehov. It helped get us in shape. We might not have had the strength to make the climb if we had tackled it at the beginning of our trip.
