John Lunn being sworn in relation to his claim for pension under act of May 11, 1912 and in reply to the letter of the Commissioner of Pensions of the 28th day of March, 1913, title of claim being "Removal Division, Inv. Ctf. 264,754, John Lunn, Co C, 2nd Minn Cav. says:

 

That he was born on the 6th day of September, 1837 as appears on papers sent out by the Bureau of Pensions but that he believes he was born on the 6rh day of September, 1836. I have always given my age as of said last mentioned date of birth and am 75 years of age.

 

That there is no public or church record of his birth. There was a fimily record of birth kept in a family bible; that said bible with said record was wholly destroyed and burned by fire which burned the residence of Adam Elliott in the town of New Lisbon, Otsego County, N.Y. about one year ago. I do not remember what was the date of my birth as recorded in said bible.
