Purpose of the
Rye PTA
The
purposes of the National PTA, the New Hampshire PTA and the
Rye PTA are promoted through an educational program
directed toward parents, teachers, and the general public;
they are developed through conferences, committees,
projects and programs.
Every individual who is a member
of this Rye PTA is, by virtue of that fact, a member of the
National PTA and of the New Hampshire PTA and is entitled
to all the benefits of such membership. The National PTA
web site is www.pta.org.
The PTA is the largest parental
involvement organization in the USA with nearly 6 million
members. The PTA gets results – numerous
surveys have shown children do better when parents are
involved, grades are higher, test scores improve and
attendance increases.
We hope to help keep the parents
and teachers of Rye involved so we can all understand the
challenges the school and the community face and become
part of the solution.
Please get involved.
Become a member and work together to be part of a fun and
fulfilling organization. Volunteer
opportunities range from one hour to two-year commitments
and everything in between. Parents can volunteer by
contacting the PTA President or a committee or even
chairperson or by completing the PTA Volunteer Form that
will be sent to all parents in the children’s
backpacks the first week of school. Throughout the
year PTA volunteer opportunities will also be announced in
the PTA monthly newsletter and on the website.
