Handmade Farm
Fresh Holiday Pies are Back!!
Order form is here.
The Rye PTA is once again offering handmade, holiday pies
from the Valley View Orchard Pie Company and Apple Farm in
Maine. Are you going away this year for Thanksgiving? No
worries, these unbaked pies will last up to one year in
your freezer! The best thing is that they taste like you
made them from scratch.
In addition to the 9” pies, we have added a variety
pack this year which will include four 6” pies. The
variety pack makes a great gift for the holiday seasons.
The variety pack contains a 6” pie in Apple,
Blueberry, Pumpkin and Strawberry Rhubarb. The variety pack
comes to you frozen unbaked and with cooking instructions.
Each 6” pie serves 2-3 people.
Each 9” fruit pie also comes unbaked, frozen and with
cooking instructions. Pecan, French Silk and Key Lime Pies
will come to you pre-baked and frozen with thawing
instructions. Each pie serves 6-8 and the price is just
$15. That is the same as the previous two years!
Approximately 50 percent of the proceeds go to the Rye PTA,
which in turn go right back into the schools to benefit our
children.
Order soon because the deadline is
Monday, November 16.
Order forms and payment
should be returned to your child’s classroom or in
the main offices at either the Junior High or Elementary
School. You can pick up your pies on Monday,
November 23 at the Rye
Junior High cafeteria between 2:45 and 6:30 pm.
Have a great holiday and Bon Appetit!

Boxtops for Education
Don't
forget to check the current list of participating products
on the www.boxtops4education.com
website.
It's far more extensive than just General Mills' food
items now; for example, Kimberly-Clark participates so
their Kleenex, Cottonelle, Huggies, and VIVA product
lines all have BOXTOPS on them. Also, Avery office
supplies were added to the list fairly recently.
If possible, it would be greatly appreciated if everyone
could submit coupons that have already been
trimmed. BOXTOPS coupons that are printed on
fairly thick cardboard should be delaminated by
carefully separating and peeling away the bulk behind the
coupon, if possible. It would also be appreciated if
you submit the BOXTOPS in a sealed Ziploc baggy or
envelope; otherwise, they are easily lost - some, such as
the ones on some cereal boxes, are incredibly tiny when
they are trimmed!
You may have your children bring them in to their teacher,
who will forward them to me, or drop them in the collection
box in the RES lobby. There is also a
collection box at the Rye Public Library (upstairs by the
coffee).
Based on our current count and what is expected from other
clipping volunteers, we will have over $500 - and counting
- for the submission on October 31, 2009 (vs. last year's
amount of $471 for this deadline).
While you're at it, why not register at BOXTOPS FOR
EDUCATION? You will get access to coupons for
participating products, recipes that are very kid-friendly
and healthy, and promotions from participating vendors such
as free shipping, etc. You can also quickly
register to win 1,000,000 BOXTOPS for our school! Go
to www.boxtops4education.com
to
register and enter the sweepstakes.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to find, trim and
submit BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION to our schools.
