About Us

Please take a few minutes to watch the Friendship Home Story!

We are parents, friends, business people, and volunteers from many walks of life, committed to creating a safe, warm, and nurturing home for our sons, daughters, and friends.  We strive to provide opportunities for the individuals and families that we serve to have rich meaningful and productive lives, while assuring that our communities are aware of the many gifts that they bring.  Our dream is that each individual with disabilities that we serve has a job or meaningful daytime activity, friendships that nurture them and activities that provide for educational, recreational and artistic experiences.  We believe that it is our responsibility to assure that they are able to participate in all activities that interest them with our support.  We strive to help our children and neighbors experience and value these remarkable individuals as vital members of our communities.

Friendship Home received it's 501(C)3 non-profit status in 1999, and has been working to serve individuals with disabilities since that time through Friendship Club, while working tirelessly to raise the funds necessary to build Friendship Home.  There are over 2500 individuals with developmental disabilities in Southeastern Massachusetts living at home with family members and guardians.  We are driven to provide them with opportunities that will allow them to have rich and meaningful lives, while supporting their families so that they have the necessary energy and support to meet the ongoing demands of their care.

We look forward to the completion of The Home with the Heart in 2010 and our new Young Adult Friendship Club and Vocational program, beginning in the Fall of 2009.
