Subject: Verizon Wireless instructions & FAQ

Hello John,
I just wanted to write to say that I followed your excellent instructions at
and am now happily using my
V60c to do e-mail. This has allowed me to drop my Earthlink account that I was
using just for travel.
Besides wanting to thank you for a great resource, I noticed that in your FAQ
you don't have any suggestions for FAXing. While I don't know how to use the
phone as a FAX modem (if that's even possible), I will say that I've have been a
satisfied customer of the J2 (formerly jFAX) service for years.
or
While these look like different companies, they are actually complementary
services offered by the same parent company which purchaced them both a couple of
years ago.
And just like your wireless adventures, they have no offical Mac support. But
both services support sending faxes from documents that you e-mail them. The
most reliable being PDF, which of course every Mac OS X user can generate from
anything they can print. So faxing is litte more than e-mailing an attached
PDF. This can often be much smaller than the actual FAX data, I might add.
For viewing recieved FAXes, there are a couple of FAX viewing utilities for OS
X; I use Tiff-Sight.
I have no affiliation with either, blah, blah, blah.
Thanks again,
James
