Sketching
The use of portable pen input devices in design offers a way of overcoming this problem, bringing the advantages of both worlds, the speediness of sketching, and the possibility of exporting the results on to a more sophisticated drawing program or even into a CAD program, for further development and design completion.
The above image was created using an Apple Newton Message Pad, a device that allows the direct input of pen strokes over a pressure sensitive screen; therefore being very close to an actual paper notepad.
This sketch file can be used later as a template or even as a first image for the conception of a project, allowing the easy trasmission and modification of it by electronic means.
