Basic Proposal 5
![]() This scheme combines several features from the previous ones, firstly, offers a different response for both London Rd. and Gallowgate Rd. , a continous strip of flats against the latter, and a more broken and detailed elevation towards the first, in order to give a sense of entrance and exit towards and from the Barras Market. Additionally establish two different levels of relation, public uses on the ground floor, and private uses on the first floor platform, the role of this space is basically that of allowing the visual integration and the functional differentiation of the many activities within the site. There are two main points of entrance and exit within this central space, (with the circular squares) and a bridge to link the on going developments near St.Andrews Church. The several voids expressed on the platform have the purpose of not only allowing daylight into its inner spaces, but also of permitting a more integrated use and feel of the whole complex. |
