This means that despite the idea of keeping previous urban patterns have to be answered, also the local conditions have to inject activity and interest into the main project, this means that the building s must allow the controlled interaction of public and residents, and offer a way of connecting new housing developments in the area. The dual public and private nature of the site opens several questions that can be summarised as: How to differentiate public and private spaces around the building, How to intake the flow of people going to the Barras Market, and how to take advantage of this fact for the project's activity. How to access the private areas, and what sort of transition spaces are going to mediate between the street activity and the internal spaces.
