Bearing in mind the feasability of the new rail station project, and the possibilities that this area offers for the development of housing complexes, the first schemes contemplate a ground floor platform destined only for common services and retail shopping, the nature of this must comply with the strong urban nature of the site. This ground floor must be the entrance point for a route towards the Barras Market as well as a link between Gallowgate and London Rd.

Internally, this ground floor can be devoted for services related to the housing areas above it, services such as covered car parks, access facilities and open areas that can be the acces point to the rest of the scheme.
The floors comprised between the 1st and 4th can be occupied exclusively by flats, and must have contact with the access points related to ground floor access.

The last floor housing occupies a slightly minor area, and in terms of height must try to keep the continuity of the block mass set up by the Mercat building, and lost today; rebuilding in that way the preexisting urban fabric. To achieve this maybe it is necessary to take advantage of vertical structures such as staircases and lifts, and common access points in general.
