![]() The main aim of the research project is to examine the relationship between:
The methodology selected implies that the design development will guide the use of the CADtools. Also, the selection of this tools start from assumptions resulting of previous working experience and the school CAD framework. Table of design Stages and CAD Usage ![]() Table of CAD Usage and Tools ![]() For a list of the applications used at the moment go to sources page Design Stages Contents Stage 1: Assimilation The purpose of this stage is to accumulate the information directly related to the topic, in this case, information about which CADtools can be used for the display and ordering of the differents types of data that are found at the first phases of a design project. The aim to reach during this phase is related to the selection of appropiate applications that can store graphical, and non graphical information related to the design. This information often includes, survey maps, animations sketches, photos as well as historical urban data extracted from books, interviews and meetings, that helps to build the context study basic information. Stages Contents Stage 2: General Study During this phase the design problem is investigated, and possible solutions are generated in conceptual terms. The objective to cover with it is to use specific tools to manipulate the information gathered during the previous phase, merging it with the existing criteria for the solution the specific topic, this means the graphical display of the design intentions and concepts, as well of existing design strategies for the chosen site. Stages Contents Stage 3: Development The development stage includes the use of CADmodelling tools as aids to explore and propose several architectural solutions for the site. The most important point here is to exploit the capabilities of CAD as concept testing tools , generating several models that can combine some of the design concepts envisioned during the phase general study phase. This means that this tools are going to be used as selection aids for the final architectural solution. Stages Contents Stage 4: Communication This last phase involves the development of one solution using CADtools, up to the necessary amount to explain it clearly enough to members and non members of the design team. The implications of this cover the use of animations, rendered images, general construction documents and summary documents, by the discriminating use of each of the CADtools selected during phase 3.
