1/16/2001 It has come to my attention that Personal Journal has begun to exhibit odd behaviors when run under Mac OS 9.1. Pictures and messages may begin to appear in an order other than that in which they were added, having the effect of scrambling the dates of your entries. Personal Journal 2 will, of course, fix this problem. However, at present it does not appear to be a problem that can be fixed in the current version. I hope this does not cause too much trouble, and I appreciate your patience in waiting for the release of Personal Journal 2. This problem has not been reported when running any version of the Mac OS prior to 9.1.

10/15/2000 Have no fear, I haven't disappeared, and Personal Journal is still alive. I know that it's been a long time since the last update, but I think that you will agree that the wait was worth it when Personal Journal 2.0 is released. The small update that I had promised has been cancelled in favor of this completely new version. It's not quite done yet, but I'm creating a page describing many of its new features to hold you over until its release.

1/6/2000 Well, no new version yet, but I'm working on it. The next update, when it's finally done, will include Drag and Drop support, Keychain support under Mac OS 9, and improved support of the Appearance Manager. There might be other improvements, but only if I get more suggestions and find the time to work them in. Also, all email should now be sent to joshshaffer@mac.com.

7/8/99 Personal Journal version 1.1 is now available in the downloads section and will run on any Power Mac running System 7 or later. Mac OS 8 or later is highly recommended. Significant updates include support for more picture formats and a Go To Date command. Refer to the Read Me file after downloading Personal Journal for a complete list of what has been changed.

5/21/99 I am working on an update with some new features and functionalities which have been requested by some users. I am going to hold off on uploading it until there are some more significant updates, and maybe a partial manual. If you would like to be added to a list to be notified of future updates, send an email to joshshaffer@mac.com with "Update List" as the subject.

5/19/99 My listing at Download.com was just entered yesterday! Hopefully this means that I'll start getting some more hits.

5/12/99 Personal Journal has been completed, but it has not been thoroughly tested. It appears to function as expected on my PowerBook G3 250 running MacOS 8.6, but I don't know how it will run on other systems. As I don't have the time nor the resources to test it on every model and every configuration, please take the time to let me know how it works on your system.

The only documentation which is currently available is the Quick Start guide that comes with Personal Journal. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to write full documentation right now. Please do not let this discourage you, as the program is not very complex and should be easy to learn. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at the address listed below.

Personal Journal v1.0 is now available in the downloads section, and should run on any PowerMac running System 7 or later.
