PIXL Designs is an up and coming freelance design group. From Web sites to postcards, we believe in the power of graphic design to fuel creativity and innovation both in print and online. We value establishing lasting relationships with our clients while helping them understand the tremendous potential of design in today's world. Founded

PIXL Designs was founded by Joshua Brown midway through 2008 after realizing many churches and small businesses were often in the dark about how to best market their programs and events. Three of the first areas we noticed that needed improvement:

  • Design
  • Web
  • Video

Design is an interesting word that stirs up all kinds of connotations. Most people think that design is merely artistic renderings, but it is so much more than that. We at PIXL thrive most on incorporating designs into powerful layout structures. The beauty of today's world is how easy it is to design across media platforms and keep a consistent look. We have too often seen how a business flier or church sermon looks nothing like the rest of the promotional materials a church or business has. So we exhibit passion when relaying to our clients the importance of a consistent and branded look.

Web also brings on many emotions. From blogs to Web 2.0, talk of the WWW saturates our lives as they become more and more reliant on the online connection. We began to notice how many churches and small businesses lacked quality Web sites with relevant content. Not only would this be a negative for a prospective member/visitor/client but it just isn't good business practice to sell yourself short in marketing. We work to educate our clients on the power of design and marketing and help them create an efficient and quality Web site through design partnerships that enable our clients to update their sites on the fly.

Video is also a passion at PIXL. Since creating a senior video in 2001, we have been passionate about the power of video. From weddings to slideshows, PIXL Designs utilizes professional video tools such as iMovie HD and Final Cut Pro to create stunning projects. History

PIXL began as a concept called Project Revolution in 1998. It emerged into Changing Perspective in 2007 before settling on PIXL Designs in 2008. A brief look at the history of PIXL...but what about those behind the PD?

Laura and Joshua Brown are the co-founders of a new experience in online and print freelance design. The two met in Riverside, CA in 2002, had their first date in Nashville, TN in 2003, were engaged after dating long-distance (KY to AZ) in 2005 and were married in 2006. A journey like no other, the lives of Laura and Joshua have been filled with excitement and joy, sadness and heartache, but most of all — passion for life, love, each other, and God.

Originally pursuing student ministry, Joshua developed a passion for using technology to reach out and connect to a new generation. Joshua eventually pursued a career in graphic design, the industry he currently works in Nashville. But he has not lost his passion for using design to reach out to others. Through PIXL, he and Laura seek to honor God by helping churches, small businesses, and other individuals make a difference in their community starting with their promotional and informational material. Laura and Joshua reside north of Nashville along with their beautiful daughter, Ashlee. They love to meet new people, build lasting relationships, and experience life in new ways.

PIXL is only part of their life-long journey together as a family as they seek to serve God in every aspect of their lives.

Future

PIXL Designs hopes to have a creative and innovative future as we seek to keep pursuing quality graphics while building lasting relationships with our clients. As technology continues to move forward, we promise to stay in tune with the tide of change. We promise to always deliver our best and commit to a 110% guarantee of passion placed into all our projects both now and in the future. We obviously hope to expand our reach and impact as many people as we can. Thankfully the Web exists in such a way we can connect with clients and design partners all across the country and world in a matter of minutes.
