Rain falling on only half our yard
The other half in bright sunshine
We look back and forth and look again
Unsure whether to believe our eyes
Or to invent some other explanation
For water from the sky to our right
Nothing but a clear view to our left
Smiles and laughter of pure delight
We lay claim to our own private rain
