Counting My Steps

Counting my steps
I circle the block
'Round and 'round
And 'round again

Rhythmically chanting
Number after number
I count on my fingers
To track the hundreds

A bird at thirty-seven
A rabbit at fifty-two
A cheery "Good morning"
'Twixt eighty and eighty-one

And 'round again
'Round and 'round
I circle the block
Counting my steps
