Solitary Tree

Solitary tree
Outlined against the sky
Its bright lights
Sparkling and glistening

They wink across
The wide open field at me
A secret shared
In the early pre-dawn dark

Stars captured
To hang from its branches
Dreams summoned
To flit amongst the stars

Solitary tree
Standing straight and tall
Its bright lights
A celebration of the season
