Snow Shovels Hoping

Snow shovels hoping
For just one more storm
They stand on a porch
So very forlorn

Faces turned upward
Their eyes on the sky
Another chance wanted
To make the snow fly

Silent and patient
They contemplate fate
As eager as ever to
Impress their mate

Two mismatched partners
Who love what they do
No longer as shiny
As when they were new

Flurries and blizzards
And all in between
Not once have they shirked
Any duty they've seen

And now all they want
Is to battle once more
To clear all the snow
Before summer's store

They stand on a porch
So very forlorn
Snow shovels hoping
For just one more storm
