Poised In A Cloud

Poised in a cloud
Scenting the air
Checking the temperature
Waiting and wondering
Whether a raindrop
Or a snowflake
Or something in between

A simple drop of water
Suspended somewhere
Between earth and sky
Holding its breath
To see what is
To become of it
Poised in a cloud
