Cardboard and glitter
Worth all of about five cents
Even when the star
Was newly cut into shape
And a three year old
Went to work with the glue
Cardboard and glitter
Hung on a Christmas tree
Forty-six years later
The materials not even worth
That original five cents
And priceless nonetheless
