Spring follows winter
Or so it would seem
One season giving way
To another in orderly
And unending succession
But it is not a baton
Handed between runners
More of a dance where one
Gradually takes the lead
Not easily surrendered
And a sunny spring day
Can turn on a dime
Into a winter storm
