Each Stroke Of The Brush

Each stroke of the brush
Delicately and precisely
Laid down upon the scroll
With unhurried patience

Each graceful movement
Made solely in the service
Of transferring black ink
From stone to white paper

Each full deep breath
Measuring in simple beats
The time-honored rhythms
Of an ancient practice

Each beautiful character
Blossoming upon the page
To explode within our souls
And penetrate our hearts
