Already Wrote This Poem

Already wrote this poem
(Danced this dance
Hummed this melody
Walked this path)
Once if not a dozen
Times before
Or so it seems
Perhaps just thought
About doing it
Or it happened long ago
in another lifetime
Maybe even someone else
Did it better
And only a dim memory
Of a brushing encounter
With that greatness
Makes this one seem
But a pale imitation
Of a forgotten echo
The uncertainty of it all
Leaving no choice but
To write it once again
