Not In Grand Gestures

Not in grand gestures
Does he show his true self
But in the smallest of actions
A skinned knee
Kissed to wellness
A broken toy
Repaired like new
A necklace untangled
With patient persistence
A word of encouragement
Whispered with a hug
Sometimes so small a thing
As to go completely unnoticed
But for the knowledge
That he somehow
Made things better
