Inch By Inch

Inch by inch
And not even that
The vine slowly crept
Over fence and wall
A vast expanse of green
Overtaking all in its path
Until only the outline
Of former shapes remained
Victorious in its patience
A living monument to the power
Of unswerving perseverence
