Just Another Day Perhaps

Just another day perhaps
And perhaps doomed from the start
The outcome already determined
By the expectation

Maybe just another day
To be molded to our desires
Awakened into all that it can be
By what we bring to it

One more day among many
Just a spot on the calendar
Driven to delinquency
By its bad luck name

Named and numbered fatally
Yet escaping a fate perhaps
That was never its birthright
Nor its destiny

A day born into nothingness
Struggling inside of
That same old argument
Of nature versus nurture
