Deep in enemy territory
As the season begins
A feeding frenzy of speculation
Thunderous boasts and predictions
Colors unfurled banners waved high
Better to have no allegiance
Than the wrong allegiance
Nothing for it but to don the uniform
And smile in the secret knowledge
That the best camouflage
Comes when enemy colors
Match your own
