Since Mac OSX Tiger was released I have been hoping to be able to create my own widgets. As a web designer I was able to use some of the technologies incorporated into some of the sites I have designed and built to start developing my own functional widgets. As I am not fluent in Javascript I started to look at other widgets as a starting block and build my own using them as a blueprint. I make sure I stick to Apple's guidelines for designing widgets and keeping Aqua content on the back and keeping the front uncluttered and pleasing to the eye. I hope in the future to build on some of these widgets adding new functionality like a search option.


An enhancement on the other RSS widgets I have created, this widget is able to display the images withing the news feed.

Combined with Hawk Innovations to create a certified eBay product, eBay watcher. Hawk created the javascript to work with the API for My eBay support and I reworked the design, most of the CSS and created the tab, scroll/resize system (front and back) for multiple viewing and info. Also I added the zoom feature and world clock. Includes Growl support and it's a Universal Binary.

Hawk Innovations asked me to work up the design for their Whiskies of the World widget. I provided the graphic design and a reworked CSS file to make everything look and function properly and a few tweaks to the JavaScript. Hawk actually wrote the JavaScript file for this widget.

Based on the FICM UK news widget, using the same javascript code with some CSS changes and with a new look. In v1.9 you can view all teams in the Premiership and a few other feeds.

My first Widget is based on a combination of two previously released widgets. I combined the two to work and function the way I wanted it to. I also added a search bar in v1.5 and image support in v2.0. Maximum Feed results choice added in 2.5.
