Neighborhood Church’s

Chalice Circle Program

chalice

Here is where you can find out all about our Small Group Ministry program, now known as “Chalice Circles”, and learn about developments as they happen.

Chalice Circle enrollment started on 20 September
and will continue through 4 October (at least!)

Signup for the Neighborhood Church Chalice Circle program started up Sunday 27 September, and will continue at least until the program starts running in the second week of October. Sign up at Sunday Service or you may contact Jonathan Lubin directly: his phone number and e-mail address are listed in the Church directory.

For those of you new to Neighborhood, Chalice Circles bring groups of 8-12 members and friends of Neighborhood together in a regular spiritual practice. Facilitators encourage participants to share their life stories in response to thought-provoking, UU-oriented themes and to draw insights from them. Circles invite intimacy, allow for serious engagement with religious and spiritual topics, and lead toward expression of our principles and values in action. We feel that being involved in a Chalice Circle fosters a small-church feel for the congregants of our large church and draws us into mutual ministry.

Since missing a Chalice Circle meeting has a significant impact on the group and greatly diminishes a member's small group ministry experience, we strongly encourage participants to choose a meeting time when they have no other commitments and to take into consideration whether or not they want to be in a group that meets once or twice a month. We welcome and encourage you to sign up and become part of this special ministry at Neighborhood Church.

chaliceletDo you have questions about how the Chalice Circle program is organized, or how it works? Read the FAQ page, where all possible questions are answered.

chaliceletStarting in the Fall of 2003, Jane Zamanzadeh published articles on the work of the Task Force in the Neighborhood News, which you can read if you would like to review them. Or you can download the first six of her postings in a single file in .pdf format.

chalicelet Thanks to the efforts of Peggy Painton and Bob Holmes, we have started up a collection of Library Materials to be kept in Neighborhood House, and from which you may download selections. These downloadables are listed on a separate page.
